election time again.....

Election time and i have to admit i am secretly hoping someone would give me money or something to vote for them....ehehehehe. Although my secret hopes wont materialise it is true that people get paid to vote. If it isnt money, its biriyani , sarayam or kudam.
and there's this spate of freebies offered by the government.sometimes i wonder if i live in the same state as others for i have got nothing. no color tv, no 1 kilo rice for 2 rupees. no 2 acres of land... talking about rice i heard it isnt of good quality and where do i hear about this? from a annachi(thats how these palasaraku kadai aka general provision store owners are called here). so annachi was busy in the ration shop complaining about how the 2 rupees rice that the government employee in the ration shop "illegally" sold him was bad and how he couldnt sell it in his shop.
The whole transaction and the conversation happens out in the open, they dint seem to care if anyone heard them, neither did i bother to react....and i stood there not reacting when a deserving poor old woman was sent away from the shop claiming no goods. sad.
As for the TV, theres this government TV sitting in my in laws house gathering dust. dint matter to anyone that we already own two television sets.

i def need to mention kalignar's fast here. our CM wakes up one day realising he hasnt done enough for the tamilians in Srilanka (read the isue has really hoted up and is threatening to be a major election issue in the state, and his ground is shaky with amma proclaiming separate ealam as a solution). He decides to go on a fast till death on a whim. well he gets his wish the vehicles stop plying on the beach road for a few hrs, there are cops n cameras everywhere good publicity, after he makes sure alll the TV stations havee covered this stunt, he tells us all theat Sri Lanks has offered to stop firing at the NFZ (its another matter that its false news from the Sl and the indian govt)

Funny how every party and every politician goes around claiming kinship and promosing help. sucks.

as much as i want to write the heat is killing me and the AC sucks up all the moisture left in me( wonder if this really happens or if my imagination is at work here)
