driving and traffic in chennai

another issue ive been wanting to write about for a long time...
traffic in chennai and stuff u need to know before u ride or drive in chennai

more than the size of your vehicle, its the noise generated by honking that matters or gets things moving

things u need to worry about

autorickshaws-they appear outta nowhere and have the amazing capability of squeezing themselves into any space available, they also have the annoying habit of appearing to become three times their size when theyre crawling and u try to overtake them...
also do not expect red lights when they brake and indicators when they turn.

lorries- ignore them and try to act smart them at your own peril.learn to leave way for them

bus-the above said ting applies to buses as well

signals-u feel like a moron when u obey the signals in chennai, especially on the tambaram highroad

cycles and motorcycles- they insist on driving in the middle of the road and doin it like a snake(
cant blame them ull have to do iit in the potholes ridden roads to save yourself and your vehicle)

pedestrians-brace urself for abuses

now that ive covered almost everything..oops i forgot the cows and the dogs which refuse to budge, i guess they now know we wont run them over

to conclude
its an adventure to move about in the city and none of these stop u from doin it everyday...

road rage is on the rise, so is rage in general
starts young as the other day i saw a coupla idiots(scfoolboys beating up a conductor coz he asked them to get off the footborad and get in the bus)

i shud probably do a thesis on frustration as a cause for rage(guess i shud stop here)
